My friend Jeannene called me on Sept 2, 2007 and told me that her cactus was in bloom so I ran over there to take a picture. The top picture is the bloom, the second picture is the buds for future blooms. Now to the interesting part for botanists.

Name: Starfish Flower (Stapelia Variegata/Orbea Variegata) sometimes called Carrion Flower. It is a member of the Milkweed family. Also, you will not sniff the flower very long as it has an aroma of rotten meat.
