Saturday June 28, the MCC Louisville Fun R Us group made a day trip to Cathedral Gardens, 1314 Hebron Church Road, Henryville, IN 47126 (812)294-3139. This is one fantastic garden, all kinds of flowers, small buildings, statuary, small lakes with lots of water lilies and this frog sitting on a lily pad.
Cone Flower with some sort of bug on sipping on the nectar.
Pink Water Lily. They also had yellow, white, red, and variations of those colors.

Those of you who are in Florida will get a thrill out of this. We are used to seeing palm trees at the Hooters restaurants. Well up here in Kentucky, and I imagine other places as well where it does get COLD they cannot have the real palm trees so the Hooters on Dixie Highway in Shively has the aluminum palm trees.

The 17 year Locust. They are everywhere and do make a very loud noise in group.

June 7, 2008 I took a short trip over to Bardstown, KY and visited Federal Hill (better known as My Old Kentucky Home) Stephen Foster visited here and wrote the song, My Old Kentucky Home which is now the State Song of Kentucky
Statue of Stephen Foster. He wrote the state song for both Kentucky and Florida.
"My Old Kentuck Home" and "The Swanee River"
Log cabin law office on the grounds of Federal Hill

On the way home from Lexington I stopped at Frankfort and took some pictures of the State Capital building and the Floral Clock. It was late so I could not go in the Capital building.

On May 31, I made a trip over to Lexington, KY to visit a friend and we went out riding and I of course had to stop and take pictures. Below is just a very short section of the many many miles of stone fences that line a lot of the roads.
A mare and her foal. The little one looked at me just as I pushed the shutter.
This is the year of the 17 year Locust. They do make lots of noise.
